Scaling Transformation

There are only a few organizations that can afford to make a big bang transformation a success. A transformation where everyone focuses on changing the organizational structure at once, the way they organize themselves and the way they make decisions. In most cases, an organization cannot stop and restart or take the time necessary to do a complete reset.

A much more natural way to transform is to continuously reinvent yourself as an organization. To continuously learn and improve, supported by some very different principles. Those organizations that face hard times and still survive show a degree of flexibility to adapt to the new situation. This may be a change in strategy or a different way of working. Those organizations that hold on to the way things have always been done are struggling, and they often die a silent death.

To learn to change and do things differently, start small. When you see what works, scale it up. Use the pilot team approach to change one team first. Once that team shows the success you hoped for, be bold and scale the new approach to transformation quickly.
